Bass transcription: Limp Bizkit – “My Way”

Limp Bizkit? Don’t judge me. Being a teenager at the turn of the century was a very confusing time for someone interested in heavy, guitar-based music. Guitar solos were out, drop tuning and having a DJ in your band was in, and I found myself dreaming of owning a Warwick bass with LEDs in the fretboard.

I remember buying my first copy of Bass Player magazine and Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers was on the cover, so he must’ve been good, right? In fact, many of Limp Bizkit’s hits featured prominent melodic basslines (“Re-arranged” and “Boiler” are two that spring to mind without forcing myself to listen through their back catalogue), and “My Way” is no exception:
