Want to finally make meaningful progress? Ready when you are.
I love helping people reach their musical goals and get more enjoyment out of playing bass. Regardless of your age, playing experience or musical preferences, I'd like to help you, too. Many of my current students are working as full-time bass players, writing their own transcriptions, or simply gaining a deeper understanding of the music they love.
Students in the UK, USA, Greece, Sweden and Australia – time slots across most time zones.
I'm now entering my fifth block of lessons and the transformation in my understanding of my instrument, my style of playing and my ability to read and write music is little short of miraculous.
One of the qualities I most value is that he is careful to point out my mistakes and give me the guidance I need but is always motivating and positive about it. I always leave the lessons feeling energised and encouraged, never demotivated.
The five core areas we cover
Everyone works on these areas, because they're what you need in order to become a thriving, independent musician:
- 01
Time, rhythm, and groove
You're part of the rhythm section, so you should understand rhythm properly both on and off the page.
- 02
Technique and tone
Learn safe, efficient technique in both hands that will allow you to play cleanly and confidently.
- 03
Harmony
Learn to make practical sense of music theory by applying to the instrument. Gain a better understanding of your fretboard, and how to find practical fingerings for triads, 7th chords, scales and modes.
- 04
Ear training
Master the sound of basic intervals to learn basslines by ear more quickly and strengthen your improvisation skills.
- 05
Repertoire
Understand how to analyse and memorise songs properly, deal with set lists in a stress-free way, and start gigging professionally.
Every student gets a Google Drive folder with the PDFs and audio from each lesson, plus specific guidance on what – and how – to practise.
