One of the few modern additions to the list of Christmas standards, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has become a staple of the festive season since its release in 1994.

It appears that the song’s co-writer/producer, Walter Afanasieff, played (or, possibly, programmed) the bass part. Nothing especially complex here in terms of the bass playing, but the chord progression has plenty of nice twists and turns. Unsurprisingly, most singers lack Mariah’s vocal range, so be prepared to play it in plenty of different keys if it appears on a gig!
