From Under The Cork Tree, Fall Out Boy’s 2003 major label debut brought them their first taste of mainstream chart success, spawning two successful singles (‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’ and ‘Dance, Dance’) and reaching double platinum status – as of 2013 the album had shifted almost 3 million units.
The combination of pop-punk guitar trappings, catchy choruses and introspective, angst-ridden lyrics made Fall Out Boy a perfect fit for Warped Tour teens who were seeking music that would alienate their parents but didn’t have the stomach for bands like Pantera.
